Interesting Pantry Facts

- As of September 5, 2008 we have given out a total of 7,303 pounds of pet food to families needing short-term help feeding their pets. 6,915 pounds has been given out and 787 local pets haven't gone hungry since January 2008.
- We have been contacted by (19) individuals in (14) states and Canada asking us for advice on how to start a pet food assistance program in their area.
- In July, we gave out a total of 1,269 pounds of pet food in nine distribution days, based on distribution twice a week.
- On July 29, 2008 we gave out 356 total pounds of pet food to 10 different households.
- Once we receive our IRS nonprofit determination letter, all donations made after our incorporation date; May 14, 2008; will be tax deductible.
- It took six months to distribute our first 2,000 pounds (one ton) of pet food and only three months to distribute our second ton.
- The concept of the Pikes Peak Pet Pantry began on September 17, 2007 when our founder asked an online community for dog food to help a person feed their dog.
- The Pikes Peak Pet Pantry founded its name in October 2007.
- As of May 1, 2008, the Pikes Peak Pet Pantry had distributed 3,210 pounds of pet food to families needing temporary assistance feeding their pets. We have distributed 387 pounds of cat and dog food from September 2007 to December 2007 and 2,823 pounds since January 1, 2008.
- We distributed 711 pounds of pet food in February 2008, 786 pounds during the month of March, and 944 pounds during the month of April.
- Healthy Pets Animal Hospital, located at 5195 Fontaine Blvd Suite 4 in Fountain, Colorado sponsored our first pet food drive.
- Astro SecurCare Self Storage, located at 4729 Astrozon Blvd in Colorado Springs, Colorado, has been our longest sponsor and benefactor to-date.
