Our Mission: Keep Rover or Fluffy Home

With the economy in a recession, this special program is helping many families cope with enormously difficult times. Ensuring that our community's companion animals never go hungry is one of the most basic, and most critical, aspects of animal welfare.1 A person's inability to feed their pet could be due to unexpected bills or expenses, with the situation being temporary. By offering pet food assistance we hope to lessen the burden of homeless pets on local animal shelters and rescue groups. We hope people are rest assured they're able to keep their beloved pet during their hardship and stay together as a family.

We are advocates for spaying and neutering pets and the humane treatment of all beings, including humans. Our services include:

  • A pet food bank for families in need
  • A pet supply service from collars, leashes, beds, and other pet care products
  • Offering referrals to a low-cost spay and neuter clinic, for those who need to get their dog and/or cat spayed or neutered
  • Helping offset the cost of prescription pet food
  • Emergency low-cost dog grooming services, for those who need to get their dog groomed now for the comfort of the pet but don't have the financial ability at that moment
  • We will have more programs to benefit both the pet and pet owner in the future. Through your donations and support, by volunteering and hosting pet food drives, we can make this happen. With the community's help, we can help the community.

Pets need food every day, all year round, but it seems the only time there's help for people to feed their pets are after disasters like tornadoes, hurricanes, fires, etc. We offer continuous food assistance to pets in the Colorado Springs area and emergency pet food services to the state of Colorado. We can not accomplish our mission without the community's help, so please consider making a donation or volunteering today.

Mission Statement

“We lend a helping paw.“ We seek to provide temporary food, care, and maintenance assistance for pets, whose owners might otherwise be forced to surrender their pets to a shelter. We also attempt to offer food assistance to those managing and caring for stray and feral cat colonies. Our purpose is to help disadvantaged pet owners keep and maintain their beloved pets, as pets are usually viewed as part of the family and often offer emotional support, which is essential to a person's well being.
